In 1846, he moved with his brother, Ezekiel, to Crawford County, Georgia. Two years later on August 3, 1848, he married Mary Montgomery, the daughter of Samuel and Vashti Branan Montgomery, in Crawford County. Alexander and Mary had twelve children: 1. William R. Alexander Rufus (2/27/1873 – 7/7/1944) m. 1) Annie Maude Wells 2) May Bell Mims After the death of Mary Montgomery Jones on June 6, 1873, Alexander married Catherine Parrish on December 25, 1876. She was born on April 25, 1847. They had eight children: 1. Euney Jewell (9/21/1866 – 4/7/1906) m. ____ McCarty 2. Stanford Jackson (10/6/1877 – 7/14/1956) m. Vala ____ 3. Mary Powell 7. Carrie Belle (1/20/1888 – 5/20/1935) m. ____ Johnson 8. Henry Clay (11/6/1889 – 6/29/1967) m. Jessie Clark Alexander was a veteran of the Civil War. He died on July 18, 1909 and is buried in the New Hope Cemetery in Reynolds along with his sons, Samuel and Daniel. Mary Montgomery Jones is buried with her parents in the Montgomery family cemetery in Crowell.
