His parents are unknown to me at this time. I first found him on the 1860 Houston County census. He was in the 14th Battalion Georgia Light Artillery during the Civil War and I am curious what the relationship to the other three King men in the same Batallion was. On 9-6-1860 he married Mary Jane Sauls daughter of Tom and Martha Barfield Sauls. Mary Jane Sauls was born 11-20-1835. John Thomas King and his wife Mary Jane moved to Taylor County after marriage and many of their descendants still live in the area. John and Mary Jane Sauls King are buried in Wesley Methodist Curch Cemetery in Taylor County. Their children are as follows 1. Bob .. Nothing but his name is known at this time. His name comes from family records passed on to me and nobody seems to know anything else. The only evidence I have that he truly lived is a picture that was taken about 1940-50 that shows Bob with his brother Augustus "Gus" 2. Lizzie K born March 1883 3.Sarah Rebecca born 12-9-1862 died 5-8-1948 in Crawford County. She was the 2nd wife of John Edward Shurley. They were married 3-4-1888 in Taylor County . Their son William Arthur is my grandfather. 4.Mattie born 1868 died 1894 in Naples Texas married Brittain Greenberry Smith. After her death B.G.
