Layfield, wife ========= from Jean Harron January 7, 1988 Taylor County paper where my cousin James E. Layfield and Murray Craig both sons of the American Revolution submitted this story on Josiah. It says that Josiah, George W. and Levin all purchased farms next to one another. George, a relative, and Levin was Josiah's youngest son. When I went to the cemetery I saw George's grave and I don't think he is Josiah's son as he is older than Josiah's other children by a lot and there was a George Layfield we believe to have been Josiah's brother in MD. We are sure this was Josiah's Nephew who also was a revolutionary soldier. The Layfields all lived a long time. Josiah and his son James were both over a hundred. My Aunt Dixie Layfield Lamb lived to be a 104. They were all sharp right up to the end. None of them ever mentioned a George as being the child of Josiah. I think these people related to George ought to go looking at George from MD.
