J. English performing the ceremony in the presence of a large assemblege of relatives and friends. The groom was the son of the late Rev. John and Mrs. Tamanda Gaultney Locke. Mrs. Locke was the youngest of twelve children and the only one now living. Mr. Locke is in the 73rd year of his age and Mrs. Locke the 72nd. The names of their children who provided the delightful occasion honoring their parents are: Messrs A. E. Locke and G. D. Locke and Mrs. Fred Ball. Besides these three are seven grandchildren. In the receiving line to greet their many callers, besides the honorees, Mr. and Mrs. Locke, were their daughter, Mrs. Myrtice Locke Ball, wofe of Mr. D. D\\C. Ball, of Greenville, Tenn. and Mrs. Jim Childs, of Garden Valley, who stood with them at the marriage altar fifty years ago. In adjoining rooms was the loveliest arrangements and greatest number of useful gifts in compliment to the honorees. Each after waiting his or her turn in the receiving line and viewing the many gifts proceeded to long out-or-doors tables where awaited the throng the greatest abundance of barbecued meats, salads of many kind and cakes of every description, coffee, and tea.
