Henry H. Mangham was the youngest son of Solomon Mangham. He was born in 1804 in Hancock County, Georgia. His father, Solomon, died when he was only five or six years old, and probably Henry remained at home with his mother, Sarah. He married Elizabeth P. Thweat (daughtere of John P. Thweatt and his wife Sarah) on July 1825 in Hancock County. They moved with their family by 1830 to Meriwether County and by 1832 to Talbot. Their children include: Louisa F. Mangham Mary Caroline Mangham Martha Winfred Mangham (born 1835) James O. Mangham (born 1838) Henry was a schoolteacher at Planter's Academy (Talbot Co)for several years, but lived primarily as a farmer. Henry died at age 55 in 1859 from an attack of "bilious fever" in his Carsonville home. His son, James O was made Administrator of his estate on 7 Nov.1859, posting $70,000 for security.
