RILEY Thomas J. Riley was born in 1812 (based on age in 1860 census) He is listed as 58 in 1870 but not in 1880. He played a significant role in the early formation of Taylor County serving as chairman of the Inferior Court Justices meeting Feb 8, 1852 which was called for the first time to organize and name Taylor County and Butler. He married Harriet Howe (16 Mar 1819-5 Apr 1850 Harris-Gray Cemetery) who was the daughter of Robert Howe (1782-1859) and Susan Howe (1786-1846). Their children included: 1. William (Smith) m.
