John Howard Underwood the 6th child of Reuben & Baralby was
born 21 Dec 1844 Monroe Co. Ga. died 5  May 1921 Macon Co. Ga.
He entered  Co. B 22nd Ga Battalio-Seige Artillery and
surrendered at Freens Burrough Johnson's Army NC CSA During the
war, John Howard and his brothers were allowed to come home on
a hardship case to  help feed their younger brothers and
sisters because their Father had left their Mother after the
birth of the 10th child...in Crawford Co. He received an
infirmity and poverty discharge  Apr. 1865. The Macon Daily
Telegraph, page 1, published April 2, 1862.


John H. married 22 Apr  1869 Taylor Co. Ga.  Martha Jane
Amerson dtr of Levi & Sara M. McCullough.

Their first child Loreno was born 19 Feb 1870 and died 2 Jul
1870. Howard Fails born 11 Apr 1871 Potterville, Taylor was
murdered (See MURDER AT COUNTY LINE by A. Bloodworth) 30 Dec
1923. He and wife Minnie Lee Kimble had 8 children and he and
Maggie Mae Waters had 3- (See picture of only survivor Wallace
Eldan)

Selvester (Sylvester) "Aunt Sister" was born 11 Apr 1873 She
and Iva Hobbs had two children.

S Lorena was born 1 Feb 1875 Taylor and died 9 Nov 1881

Laura J was born 10 Apr 1877 Taylor and died 9 Jan 1847. She
and Chesley Daniel had one child.

Lucy Allen was born 2 May 1879 Taylor Co and died 9 Nov 1881

Harriett L "Hattie" was born 29 Aug 1883 Taylor Co. Ga. and
died 5  Feb 1959 Reynolds, Taylor, Ga. She and  Marshall
Jackson Hobbs had 9 children.

Frances Lee was born 26  Sep 1885 Taylor and died 30 Jun 1938
Thomaston, Upson, Ga.. She and John Perkins had 3 children.

Mary Azaline born 17 Mar 1889 Taylor Co. died 7 May 1951. She
and Lonnie Wainwright had four children.

Udolphus Sikes (Ga House of Rep.) born 28 Jan 1891 Taylor Co.
died 17 Feb 1972. He and Martha  Jane "Mattie" Brown had 11
children.

I did this for a picture on the Macon Co. site-but he is
actually Taylor for the Children's birth-etc.
