He married Rebecca Jackson on January 26, 1819 in Marion District, SC. Rebecca was born November 3, 1802 in SC and died February 13, 1880 and is buried in Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylor County, GA. Sons include: William M. Waters, born November 4, 1833 in Marion County, SC, married July 3, 1856 in Taylor County, GA to Mary Ann Cox (Daughter of Simon Cox and Lucy Adams). Enlisted as a private in Co. E, 45th Regt Ga Inf Mar 4, 1862. Wounded at Cedar Run, VA Aug 9, 1862. Transferred to Co F, 27th Regt Ga Inf Oct 23, 1864. After the civil war William and Mary lived in Taylor County for the most part, although they did move to Mitchell County, GA around 1870, but were back in Taylor County by 1880. In the mid 1880's William and Mary moved with their children to Henry County, AL (Now Houston County). William died November 15, 1915 and Mary died December 5, 1923. They are both buried in marked graves at Poplar Springs Cemetery near Webb, AL in Houston County, AL. 2)"Warren Franklin Waters was born in Macon Co, GA July 16, 1839. Married Caroline Bynum, daughter of Claudius David and Ally Williams Bynum) He enlisted in Co. F - 27th as a private Sept 9, 1861. Elected Junior 2nd Lieutenant, Feb 23, 1862; 2nd Lieutenant June 27, 1863; 1st Lieutenant Aug 11, 1864. The 27th infantry regiment was prominent on many battlefields from Williamsburg to Chancellorsville, then moved to Charleston SC and later to Florida. After the battle at Olustee, Florida, the 27th returned to Virgina. Here it saw action at Drewry's Bluff and Cold Harbor and in the long Petersburg siege north of the James River. At Seven Pines it lost almost 40% of its men. The unit participated in the Battle of Bentonville and surrendered with General Joseph E. Johnston, April 26, 1865. He was paroled at Goldsboro, NC May 1, 1865. He died November 14, 1914 and is buried in the Howard Cemetery, Taylor County GA."
