Captain. Co I, 4th Regiment
"He was true to his country, true to his family and true
to his God"
Graduated at Mercer 1860, Enlisted 1861, captured Fort
Steadman on March 25, 1865

Carson, John Thomas
Nov 11, 1825 - Sept 30, 1864
Major Co C 12th Regiment
Mortally wounded at Winchester, VA - Battle of the Wilderness
"His hope was in God, his death triumphant"

Carson, James Alston
Sept 10, 1832 - Aug 27, 1862
Sergeant Co.  C 12th Reg
"Amiable and beloved husband, farewell!
Thy years were few but thy virtues were many.
They were recorded not on this perishing stone,
but in the Book of Life and in the hearts of thy afflicted 
friends."

Carson, Robert Hall
April 2, 1846 - March 25, 1865
Co I - 4th Regiment
Killed in charge on Fort Steadman, March 25, 1865
"Thus a brave young spirit met death scarecely before it had entered life"

"died in Columbus at home of daughter, Mrs. L.B. Hicks"
