Directions to the cemetery are as follows. From US Hwy 19 at Rupert (by Coopers Old Store) go west on Hwy 90/127 toward Mauk about 1.8 miles and turn left on C.R. #20 (toward Cedar Creek Country Club ). Go about 1.7 miles and turn left on C.R. # 25 which is dirt road. Go about six and a half Tenths of a mile and look on left for a white metal pole and a tree with double white bands painted on it. This will be at the South edge of a stand of large trees. Other trees are planted pines all around. I flagged a path with blue and red survey flagging about 50 yards to the graves and put flagging on sticks at head and foot of eight graves. Four are marked with slabs or headstones and four are marked with rocks same as in Hill Cemetery at head and foot. (Located in Cedar Creek GMD, lower southwest end of county) H.N. Researcher: tonyhmoo1@bellsouth.net Tony Hill Moore 4 unmarked graves Information on these possible unmarked graves from: Pdukesmaier@aol.com Peggy Dukes Maier Known information regarding Henry's and Martha's four unmarried daughters buried in this cemetery is as follows: Mary Eva Duke - born 1848. Louisa A. Duke - born 1850. Susan Parasaide Duke - born 1858. Susan had a son, Charlston, who is also buried in this cemetery. The name of his father is not known. No record of being married. Elizabeth Jane Duke - born 1864. I cannot determine the daughters' death dates, as there is no census record of the H. N. Duke Family after the 1880 census. Triplets who died at birth, and whose Mother was Clara Jane Hill Lane, are buried in this cemetery, too. We do not know if the triplets were buried in one grave. We know that there are 13 people buried in this cemetery. We know that there are five graves marked with names. We do not know which of the remaining eight are buried in the four graves marked with rocks. In They Tarried in Taylor 1880 census is H(enry) N. Duke aged 61 born in S.C. and widower of Martha. Their children are listed on the Census. They are also listed in the 1860 and 1870 census. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
