Archibald Hill Family Cemetery

Located on private property a short distance into a
wooded area off Prosperity Church Road, on land once
owned by Archibald Hill (LL 163, dist. 2) and has been
in the hands of various Hill and Brewer family members
for many years.

There are a total of 15 graves here 10 adults and 5
children.  There are no head stones.  The graves are
marked head and foot by red fieldstones.  There are the
remnants of a low stone wall around the graves and some
scraps of badly deteriorated woven wire fence as well. 
A group of Hill family descendants cleaned the over
grown cemetery, fenced it and installed a granite
marker, completing the task and rededicating the
cemetery in April of 2004.
 
Believed buried here are:
 
Archibald Hill
1806-ca. 1882
 
Samantha Barfield Hill (1st wife of Archibald Hill)
1807-between 1860-1866
 
Catherine Barfield Watson Hill (2nd wife of Archibald Hill)
1836-between 1880-1882
 
Joel Hill (son of Archibald Hill & Samantha Barfield)
1834-1862 CSA
