Georgia, Talbot County.  
This indenture made and entered into the sixth day April eighteen hundred and forty
two between Robert Carson of the one part & the trustees of the planters academy of
Carsonville of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Robert Carson for the sum of one dollar to him in had paid
by Richard R. Rucker, John Carson, Howell Short, John Emerson; Wm P Edwards and
Nathaniel Raines trustees of __ said Academy have bargained, granted & sold unto the
said trustees and their successors a piece of land containing one acre more or less
adjoining the pieces belonging to the church part 131 in the 24th Dist Butler as
follows: 

on the East by by Wm A. Skellie's lot on the south by Nathan T. Short by land
belonging to the Trustees of the Church &  ?
To have and to hold said piece of land with all the appurtenances belonging to the
same to the Trustees and their successors for the use of said academy only so long
as it is used as an academy and the Robert Carson doth by these presents warrant and
forever defined the  before mentioned pieces of land with the appurtenance thereto
belonging  thereto in testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the
day and year above written.    Robert Carson

time)
