Taylor County
Georgia

This indenture made this 14th day of November in the
year of our Lord 1853 eight hundred fifty three between
Robert Scandrett of County and State aforesaid of the one
part and Britton Pope of the same place of the other
part.

Witnesseth that the said Robert Scandrett for and in
consideration of the sum of Four hundred Dollars
to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of
these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged,  hath bargained sold and conveyed unto
the said Britton Pope his heirs and assigns all
that tract or parcel of ground lying and being in the
said County known as the Stage Stable lot being bounded on the north by J. 
[Jonah] Hartley, South by Wm B. Johnson, east by Jas S. Bartlett; north right 
of way of Muscogee Rail Road containing about one acre more or less to
have to the said bargained premises unto the said Britton Pope his heirs and 
assigns and against the claims
of all other persons whatsoever the right and title
thereof unto the said Robert Scandrett his heirs and
assigns will warrant and forever defend by these
presents.

In witness whereof the said Robert Scandrett hath hereunto
set his hand and seal on the day and date above
written.
