H. Layfield of the same place of the other witnesseth that the said Leven Layfield for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained, sold and conveyed unto the said Wm. H. Layfield, his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the Twelfth District of the County of Taylor, known and distinguished in the plan of said tract by the number 137 and one hundred and thirty seven containing One Hundred One and One Fourth acres more or less being the east half with all rights, members and appartenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the afore described lot of land unto him the said Wm. H. Layfield, his heirs and assigns together with all the rights, members and appartenances to the said lot of land in anywise belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. And the said Leven Layfield for himself, his heirs, Executors and Administrators the said bargained premises together will the right title and possession thereof unto the said Wm. H. Layfield, his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claim of another persons whatever in testimony whereof the said Leven Layfield hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
