F. Layfield duly constituted administrators of the estate, both real and personal of George Layfield late of Taylor County deceased by virtue of an order of the Court of Ordinary of Taylor County granted at the regular September Term Eighteen Hundred and Eighty-Nine of said Court (notice of application for said order having been previously published in terms of the law) did on the first Tuesday in October Eighteen Hundred & Eighty-Nine within the legal hours of sale, put up and expose for sale at public outcry, before the Courthouse door at Butler in the County of Taylor the real estate hereinafter described after having advertised said sale in the Butler Herald the official gazette of said County, as the law requires when the same was knocked off to Elbert Hill of the County of Schley he being the highest and best bidder, at the price of Four Hundred and Fifty Six Dollars. Now for and in consideration of the said sum of Four Hundred and Fifty Six Dollars cash in hand, paid by the said (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged). I the said T.F. Layfield as Administrators as aforesaid have granted, bargained and sold and do by these presents grant, bargain and sell (so far as the office of Administrators authorized me) unto the said Elbert Hill the following described Real Estate to wit: All of the lot of land number Sixty-five (65). Said lot of land lying and being in the Twelfth (12th) District of Taylor County, Ga. Said lot of land containing Two Hundred Two and One Half acres more or less. To have and to hold the same together with all the rights, members and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Elbert Hill, his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as the same was seized, possessed and enjoyed by the said George Layfield at the time of his death. In Witnesseth whereof I the said T.F. Layfield as Administrators as aforesaid, have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 31st day of October Eighteen Hundred and Eighty-(the word Nine was left off the document) T.F.
