Even while it was still Talbot County the deed below mentions a School House or Academy as they were called in those days. This was north of the Wire Road. Antioch Missionary Baptist Church organized in 1829 and situated on LL161 in 24th District, would have been a center for the community. The writer extends sympathy to the bereaved ones. (Dock) Byrd were happily married at 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the home of and by Judge J.W. Gholson in Daviston district. The bride is the attractive daughter of Rev. and Mrs. M.T. Gaultney, of Five Points, [pastor of Antioch Baptist Church] and one of the most popular young ladies in the county. As a pupil of our school she won for herself many warm friends here who will be interested to learn of her marriage. Mr. Byrd is a young man of splendid character, an industrious and successful farmer of Panhandle district. They have our heartiest congratulations (paper torn). ================= The Butler Herald Thursday, July 5, 1917 Page Three Gaines – Wall A beautiful event of Tuesday afternoon, June 26th was the wedding of Lula Gaines and Mr. Roy S. Wall which took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Gaines at Five Points. The bride was lovely attired in a blue coat suit, and is one of Marion County’s most charming young ladies. The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Wall, of Mauk and holds a position with a Naval firm at Rupert. This happy couple were united in matrimony by Rev. M.W. Flanders in his usual impressive way. They number their friends by their acquaintances, who wish them much happiness and prosperity through life. They are at home to their friends at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wall. Miss Smith’s home is in this community and she has many friends here who wish them much happiness. ======== Description: Say if you want to see this part of France go up to Five Points and look around and you will almost see it, nothing but hills and mountains. Total 21; average attendance 12 boys and 7 girls, total 9. There are also photos of Central Junior High School Boys Basketball Team 1928, Girl's Team as well with several Jarrell's identified and a photo of Jarrell's Gin and another of Jarrell's barn.
