I hope when these few lines comes to hand they may find you will and doing as well as heart could wish. Miss Penney I have nothing to write that will interest you at all. I have no army news. I could not get clost to the army and have not heard any news since I came down here. Only the army was still going on towards Tennessee. Miss Penney I want to see you mighty bad. I have been a long ways from you but still my mind has been with you. I think of you by day and dream of you by night. I think the time long till this war is indeed so I can go back down in Georgia to see you again. I have trivald with a sad heart ever since I left you but I hope I will soon see the time when all of my sadness may be turned in to joys. When that time comes that I will be permited to go at liberty and see those that I have left so far behind, and be in the presence of those I love so well. What a happy time it will be when I am free from this war and in the presence of my sweetheart with my Sundays on. I think That I would have bite my finger to know whether it was me or not.
