A story revealing Clara Bivens' achievement of the record was published in last week's Sun, and it was learned Monday that Sara Hill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J(im) H(enry) Hill of Stewart's Mill community also had earned the same distinction. Sara attended grammar school at Three Points school near Stewart's Mill and her attendance record was not available to authorities of the local school. And as she failed to report her mark to Supt. E.M. Palmer, proper recognition was delayed several days. Quinton Greene missed only one day. He was absent once while in the first grade. NOTES: This is the Duncan Three Points School. It was located near the Charing Community between Buena Vista and Butler. It had ten grades. Sara(h) Hill lived between what we refer to as Smith's Level and Conner Mill Road. Her sister, Imogene, was Margaret's age. They attended Concord School. The sisters never married and lived the last years of their life in the J.O. Smith house on the west side of N.Broad (19). Stewart's Mill Community was in the northernmost part of Schley Co. There was a black school at Horry Level (in the area of Smith's Level). Horry Level was the first county seat of Marion Co. Later the county seat was moved to Tazewell and after that to Buena Vista.
