S.(Young Stokes) Wisham of Taylor County Ga. was born 30 Sept. 1835. He enlisted in 1861 in Co. E 45th Regiment Ga. Volunteers. He was honorably discharged 9 July 1865. He was wounded in Virginia the 9th day of August 1862. He was shot in the right forearm at Cedar Run with a minnie ball. The ball lodged in the elbow joint causing stiffness of said joint. He cannot straighten said right arm or bend it at all except very slightly. The arm is half bent and is substantially and essentially useless from the effects of said described wound. He cannot use said arm for any purpose, cannot even hold a pocket knife in right hand. He cannot even use a fork in right hand, . He cannot close the fingers or hold anything with them.
