Covers were laid for ten, and an elegant menu was served in courses. The centerpiece was beautiful consisting of brilliant poinsettias with lace ferns. The reception hall and parlor were decorated with handsome plants. An evening of unalloyed pleasure was spent in this lovely home, crowning with success every effort of the hospitable host and hostess. The pretty piano selections rendered by little Miss Mildred Garrett and Miss Adams were very much appreciated. Long will the memory of this enjoyable occasion linger with the favored guests. Those in attendance were: Dr. J.P. Chatfield, P.E., Rev. and Mrs. L.A. Harrell and children, Misses Katie Nell Adams, Nettie Harrell and Cleo Young. Additional Comments: Transcriber's note: Dr. Eli Garrett was the oldest child of Isaac William and Lura Garrett. He was married to Belle Gill and they had two daughters, Mildred and Marie.
