J.M. Weaver New Senator

Elected in Twenty-Third to Succeed Brother Killed in Atlanta

An election was held in Taylor, Houston and Crawford counties Saturday for the
purpose of electing a State Senator from the Twenty-Third Senatorial district as
successor to Hon. W.F. Weaver, who met an untimely death by automobile accident
in Atlanta July 10.

Col. J.M. Weaver, a brother of the late Senator, had no opposition.

Some important legislation affecting the district has been tabled in the Senate
until the time district will be represented.

Mr. Weaver’s residence is in Reynolds, this county, the hometown of his departed
brother.
