The negro race are rapidly imbibing the real war spirit and realize that this world-wide war is a war for freedom from autocratic domination. A local brass band from the southeastern part of the county composed of negro boys, afforded much inspiration to the white as well as the colored citizens who were present to see these negroes off. Rev. L.W. Boyt, colored, of Reynolds, gave a talk to the selectmen which was listened to with much interest by all who were present as it had the true ring of loyalty and service to and for the government.
