Mr. Pierce has a desirable home and we would but faintly express the truth when we say that he is one of the best farmers in Taylor. His farm is fertile, well watered and more adapted to grain than cotton. Six years ago Mr. Pierce moved to his present home which was then in a dense forest of pine and oak timber; today his farm, his garden and his flower yard present a most lovely appearance. We had the pleasure of a walk over his farm and were delighted to see the broad acres of wheat, ripe unto the harvest – corn, cotton, etc., in fine condition. Mr. Pierce has been the subject of many misfortunes but despite all this success is assured him. As we have heretofore remarked Mrs. Pierce with the assistance of her two daughters, Misses Minnie and Maud, have given great attention to the cultivation of flowers, and their collection is not confined to their own locality, but even some of the most foreign lands are represented in their floral garden. Again we return thanks to the entire family of Mr. Pierce for a visit long to be remembered.
