Her Sixth Birthday

Miss Carrie M. Russ celebrated her sixth birthday in a party last Saturday 
afternoon from 2 to 4 o’clock at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. 
W.O. Russ.  Mrs. Z.D. Respess assisted her niece to receive the guests and 
decorate the table for the occasion.

Before 4 o’clock a lunch of fruits, cakes, candies, peaches and cream were 
served and the little girls filed into the dining room in the following order: 
Carrie Russ with Helen Scandrett; Nettie Ward Frierson with Jennie Heard 
Scandrett; Pansy Montfort with Katie Hill McNeal; Stella Neisler with Elia 
Respess; Ethel Hines with Lucy Phillips; Kate Stokes with Edith McCrary; Alma 
Halley with Cleo West.

The presents were spread out on a table and among them were a doll, silk 
handkerchief, cup and saucer, flowers, perfumed swiss handkerchief and sachel 
bag.  At 4 o’clock when the guests were ready to leave, each was given a prize 
box and the drawings afforded the company more amusement.  It was a pleasant 
time for all.
