Election of County School Commissioner

As was anticipated by many Col. Walter E. Steed was elected last Saturday by 
the Board of Education as County School Commissioner of Taylor County.  There 
were only two applications for the position - Col. Steed and Prof. Mangham.  
Prof. Mangham has held this position for several years and has made a very 
efficient officer, but for some cause we know not, the board saw proper to make 
a change.  Col. Steed stood a most creditable examination and will make a 
competent officer.
