A Visit To The Gate City

It was our pleasure last week to visit the large manufacturing establishment of 
the Baby Ease Drug Co., of Atlanta, of which a former Taylor County boy, Mr. 
T.P. Marshall, is founder of the great baby remedy, Baby Ease, and president of 
the company which is now capitalized at $100,000.  After many financial 
reverses Mr. Marshall is now seeing the dawn of a new day in his undertaking 
and the success of the business is now assured.  Our visit was extended to the 
home of Mr. Marshall whose charming helpmeet is one of the queenliest young 
women in our knowledge.  She is esteemed by a large number of friends in this 
county who will be pleased to know that she was recently awarded first and 
second prizes in a contest in cake baking, over five hundred contestants, the 
first prize being a $40.00 gas range.  

We visited also the home of Captain and Mrs. T.C. Butler, formerly of this 
city.  The friends of the latter will regret to learn that she has been quite 
sick for several weeks.  They are conducting a model boarding house on Spring 
Street and enjoying a liberal patronage.  Captain Butler’s friends will be glad 
to learn of the honor recently conferred upon him by being commissioned Major 
of Calvary Brigade of the Georgia Division United Confederate Veterans on the 
staff of E.G. Gilmore commander.
