The occasion was an ideal family reunion and enjoyed in an ideal manner. We spent the morning in talking over the good old days of the past, taking stock of our many present blessings and achievements and listening to music, such as none can render save those having the talent and training of Rev. Locke’s daughters. When the dinner hour arrived we were invited out to the long table under the shade of the trees. Then and there was saw the long boasted “Old Virginia hospitality” laid in the shade. The table was covered with breads of every desirable kind and flavor. The dishes piled high with fish, flesh and fowl, with coffee, postum, lemonade and deep well water all near at hand, and cold creams of various flavors in abundance. The eye was charmed, the heart inspired to higher things, the thirst quenched and the appetite appeased by the many moral and physical sweets that day supplied.
