Peterman enveloped in flames. Mr. Peterman, who was nursing the sick, was about the first to reach the fire which, however, had gained such headway that he was unable to make but one trip in the building and bring out a couple of trunks, which were the only articles saved. Mrs. Peterman and children were at the time visiting relatives in the country and how the fire originated no one can tell, though some are of the opinion that it was the work of an incendiary. The building was owned by Mr. I.O. Cox. It was valued at $750.00 with $500.00 insurance. The amount of the contents which was destroyed is placed at about $700.00 with $400.00 insurance. Less than $15.00 worth of personal effects were saved. Mr. and Mrs. Peterman have the sympathy of their friends on account of their great misfortune.
