It is the sincere regret of all of his Taylor County friends that he will make his home at Jacksonville in the future. Mr. Salzer has been a citizen of Butler for thirty years or more and his usefulness has been felt in all lines of moral, social, civic and religious uplift for the town. Card from Mr. Salzer I herewith desire to express my heartfelt thanks for all the kindness and assistance of my friends here. I only reluctantly leave Butler, and take this method of saying goodbye to all. Sincerely, Chas. Salzer Additional Comments: Note - Charles Salzer lost his business and personal property to the fire that occurred in the business district of Butler in August of 1913. An article about this fire is also posted in the newspaper section. I'm not a researcher of this family, but I do know that Mr. Salzer had a son living in the Jacksonville area. This is most likely why he chose to relocate there. His wife, Mary, passed away in Butler in November of 1910 and her obituary is posted on the Taylor County page.
