The dead man was identified by Richmond County deputies as Pvt. John V Ritter, 20, of Rte. 2 Mauk, Ga. Injured in the mishap were Pvt. Arthur Rogers, 20; Cpl Maurice Allred, 18; Pfc. Lawrence W Smith. 20; Sp-4 William Gray, 22, and Pvt. Donald Burdette, 20.
