Local News

Tom McLendon, an industrious colored farmer who cultivates lands of the Tomlin
estate, brought to this office Saturday specimens of his soghum cane crop, which
is doubtless one of the finest in the county.  The two stalks brought us each
measured 14 feet and have attracted much attention.
