ALLMON SUCCUMBS TO BLOOD POISON IN MOST VIOLENT FORM On Wednesday last, about noon, occurred the sad passing of Miss Willie B. Allmon, of Rupert, following an illness of less than 24 hours from an attack of blood poison, considered by physicians as one of the most violent forms of that dreded malady. This fair young girl, so endowed with cheer and enthusiasm, attended classes in school as usual on Tuesday. Tuesday night she complained of severe headache and local remedies were applied. Her condition showed alarming symptoms. Wednesday morning when a physician was summoned who announced the attack that of blood poison in its most serious form. A desperate fight was made to save the young girl's life, but the disease had gained such a hold on her form that the thread of her life snapped and amid the tears of those who loved her the perfume of her sweet life was exhaled into the air to Heaven. She was the 7-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Allmon. The mother was a patient at the hospital at Plains at the time of the sad bereavement having been admitted there for treatment on the previous Sunday. Besides the parents she is survived by the following sisters and one brother: Mrs. Orrin Scott, Misses Ethel, Elma, Robbie Lee and Myrtice Allmon and Douglas Allmon. The death of Miss Willie B. has cast a gloom over the entire community. Funeral services and interment of the remains took place at Prosperity Cemetery Friday, Rev. J. D. Price of Ellaville, conducting the last sad rites.
