Besides her husband, Mrs. Albritton is survived by five sons and six daughters: Messrs. J.C. of Cordele, Wilchar and A.V., of Rupert, Clinton of Taylor Mill and Edgar Lee of Rupert; daughters, Mrs. Mary Joiner, Ft. Valley; Mrs. Vera Carpenter, Taylor Mill, Mrs. Wilma Carpenter of Butler, Mrs. Ioan Singletary of Cordele, Miss Dorothy Albritton of Rupert, Survivors also include her father, Mr. J.Q. Wisham Sr., of Rupert; Four brothers and five sisters, towit: Messrs J.Q., Wanza, Solon, and Y.S. Wisham; Mrs. Monroe Layfield of Ideal, Mrs. C.O. White of Rupert, Mrs. Bob Albritton of Ellaville, Mrs. J.C. Hayes of Mauk and Mrs. William Harmon, Alabama. Funeral was conducted by Rev. Hartley, Rev. Adams and Rev. Hall. Pallbearers were Roscoe, J.B., Halton, Travis Albritton, Fred Brewer and Howard Barrow. The Butler Herald Mrs. Charles Albritton Dies at Her Home in Rupert January 4th. At her Rupert home Jan. 4th, 3 a.m., occurred the death of Mrs. Charles Albritton from a heart ailment the first attack of which she suffered a few hours prior to her death. Mrs. Albritton, and esteemed lifelong citizen of the county was born June 6, 1895, the daughter of Mr. J.Q. Wisham who survives as does five sons and five daughters, to-wit; Messrs. A.V., J.C., Jack, Wilchar and Clinton Albritton; Mrs. Wilber Carpenter, Mrs. Vera Carpenter, Mrs. Mary Jinks, Miss Dorothy Albritton and Mrs. Nettie Bears and Mrs. I. Singleton of Cordele; also her father and the following sisters: Mrs. Oscar White, Mrs. Monroe Layfield, Mrs. William Harmon, Mrs. J.C. Hays and Mrs. Robert Albritton. Mrs. Albritton was regarded as a devout Christian and a member of Prosperity Church where the funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment was in the family lot in the nearby cemetery. These rites were in charge of Revs. Hartley and Adams. Pallbearers were Messrs. Lee, Halton, J.B. and Travis Albritton, Fred Brewer and Howard Barrow. The floral offering was unusually abundant and beautiful. Edwards Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Note: Thessie Wisham Albritton passed away on January 4, 1956.
