B. J. B. Anthony February 5, 1912- December 31, 2006 MAUK, GA— J. B. Anthony, age 94, of Mauk, Ga., died Sunday, December 31, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at New Life Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Stubbs, the Rev. Charles Fuller and the Rev. Dwight Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pine Level Cemetery, Taylor County, Ga. Mr. Anthony was born February 5, 1912, in Marion County, the son of the late Benjamin and Prudie Stringfellow Anthony. He had lived in Mauk all of his life and was a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church where he was a deacon for over 50 years. He was the widower of Vernelle O'Hearn Anthony, to whom he was married for 66 years, and he loved sitting in his "parlor" in the swing under the tree with his dogs. Survivors include his son, Otis Richard Anthony and wife Sara; daughter, Brenda Wall, all of Mauk, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Anthony; son-in-law, Lamar Wall; granddaughter, Angie Anthony Bone; brothers, Morris Anthony, Clifford Anthony, Eugene Anthony, Alva Anthony; and sisters, Thelma Herring and Martha Lizzie Phillips. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista is in charge of arrangements, with Jimmy Isom, Ronnie Albritton, Mark Anthony, Hank Montgomery, Mike Anthony and Danny Anthony as pallbearers.
