Bazemore and bore away his spirit to its eternal resting. Oh! how hard it was to say farewell to one we loved so dearly. It will cost many a pang, many a tear; but in the midst of life we are in death. Who can fathom the decree of Heaven? A home has been left dark and lonely and to think we shall never see him again. We must submit to God’s will for He knows best. As a husband and father he was always kind and true. His voice to us is still, but his memory and influence will linger forever. Grandpa was sick for several months but only confined to his bed two weeks. All that physicians, kind friends and loved ones could do was to no avail. He never complained of his condition and while on his deathbed he said “my time has come and I am ready and willing to go.” He was sixty-nine years of age and when he was only sixteen he joined the Missionary Baptist church and lived a pure Christian life. He was born and reared in Jones County but for the past thirty years he made his home in Taylor County. His remains were gently laid to rest in the cemetery of Antioch Baptist Church, the funeral service conducted by Rev. M.T. Gaultney and Rev. J.T. Adams. Besides a wife he leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, Mrs. J.R. Baldwin and five sons, namely: W.E., C.E., O.M., T.N. and C.W. Bazemore and a host of relatives and friends. One daughter preceded him to the grave about four years ago.
