James Griffith, M. D., in 1860, and died Aug. 7, 1887, leaving a husband, several children, grand-children and friends to mourn her loss. Sister Blair's life and death was another triumph of the cross and fully evidenced the truth of the word, that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. And while her life was not exempt from hardships, trials and severe afflictions, they only had a tendency to make the light of divine truth shine brighter by her peaceful and uncomplaining resignations to the will of her heavenly Father. She frequently testified as to her willingness and readiness to die and the blessed immortality that awaited her beyond the grave, and exhorted her husband and loved ones to be faithful to Christ and the church and meet her in heaven. Her body was laid to rest in the family burying ground ( to await the resurrection morn) with appropriate ceremonies by Rev. T. R. McMichael and the writer. J. T. A. BUTLER, GA., Aug. 12th, '78.
