M.T. Gaultney. Miss Brooks was born, spent her entire life and died at her father’s old home, and seemed so attached to this place that she was unwilling to be away only for a few days at a time. She was the last survivor of her father’s family and in her last days so often spoke of her brothers and sisters who had gone before. After the death of parents she made her home with her nephew and his wife and no one could have loved and respected a mother more than they did her. She was devoted to their three boys whom she loved as her own. Miss Lizzie Brooks was united with the church at Antioch in her younger days and at the time of her death was perhaps the oldest member. She died the same devoted Christian she had so long lived.
