Mrs. Ada P. Buff Dies of Illness
Well-Known Saleslady Succumbs at Residence; Funeral Will be Held Today
     Mrs. Ada Peed Buff, widow of Joseph Newton Buff and for the past 27 years a
saleslady in the ready-to-wear department of the Union Dry Goods company, died
at 3 p. m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Cleveland on Ridge
avenue, following a three months' illness.
     Mrs. Buff was born on Aug. 13, 1871, the daughter of D. J. Peed and Eugenia
Corley Peed of Taylor county. She was educated in the grammar schools of that
county and attended the Butler Male and Female college at Butler, Ga. She lived
in Butler until 1898 when she came to Macon to live. She was an active member of
the Cherokee Heights Methodist church, where funeral services will be held at 3
p. m. today. Rev. J. R. Webb, pastor and Rev. H. C. Jones, pastor of the First
Methodist church of Baxley, will conduct the services and interment will be in
the family lot in Elko, Ga.
     Surviving Mrs. Buff, besides Mrs. Cleveland, are two other daughters. Mrs.
H. R. Cristie of Barnwell, S. C., and Mrs. John R. Respess of Washington, D. C.;
two sons, James Felton Buff and Joseph Newton Buff, both of this city; one
sister, Mrs. Herman Cole Jones of Baxley, and one brother, J. A. Peed of Arabi,
Ga.; ten grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
     Pallbearers will be J. T. Killen, D. S. Wagnan, W. J. Juhan, Walter Houser,
Allen J. Smith and G. O. Wynn.
