Taylor COUNTY GA Blackston, Missouri Ann Pike File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Angela Covington http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/taylor/obits/blackston.txt Rites Held at Pine Level for Taylor Native (The Taylor County News and Butler Herald, Friday, May 15,1964) Funeral services for Mrs. Missouri Ann Pike Blackston were held in the Pine Level Methodist Church, Thursday at 3 p.m. with the pastor of the church officiating. Internment was in the family lot of the church cemetery. Mrs. Blackston died at the home of her son in Phenix City, Ala., Tuesday at 1:20 p.m. A lifetime resident of Taylor County, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Elizabeth Morris Pike. She was born January 22,1897. Mrs. Blackston was a member of the Pine Level Church. Survivors include her husband, Moley J. Blackston, four sons, Leonard Blackston, Phenix City, Loren Blackston and Cecil Blackston, Mauk; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Wills, Chamblee. Mrs. Virginia Watson, Howard, Mrs. Pauline Newsome, Phenix City, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. George Lovelace, Alvens, Tx, Mrs. Gordon Jinks, Butler; three brother, Roy Pike, Warm Springs, Lee Dennis Pike, Mauk, Ellis Pike, Butler, approximately 28 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Edwards Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were Sidney Blackston, Larry Wells, Milton Watson, Vernard Blackston, and Alton Blackston.
