Taylor COUNTY GA Blair, John File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Angela Covington http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/taylor/obits/blair.txt Mr. John Blair Dies at Home After Long Illness (The Butler Herald, Thursday, October 6, 1960) Mr. John Blair Jr., 70 years of age, died at his home at Taylor Mill Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. He had been ill for about eight weeks. Mr. Blair was born in Macon County, Sept 30, 1890, son of the late Mr. John and Mrs. Kate Blair. He has made his home on Taylor County for the past 23 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Olive Church at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Rev W. J. Owens officiated and was assisted by Rev, W.J. Childree and the Rev. Frank Willis. Internment was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers were Messrs Otis Morrell, A.V. Albritton, Ennis Childres, Fred McDaniel, Virgil Byrd and Thomas Perkins. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Blair; three sons, Messrs Lewis of Reynolds, Clay of Columbus, and Earl Blair of Miami, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. Lucille McDaniel, Manchester, Mrs. Myrtice Morrell, Reynolds, Mrs. Lena Childree, Butler, Mrs. Ruth Byrd, Thomaston, Mrs. Liller Bell Albritton, Butler; thirty two grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five step-children, Mr. Felton Bloodsworth, Columbus, Mr. Aubrey Bloodsworth, Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Bessie Lus Brown, Columbus, and Mrs. Willow Brown, Columbus.
