Elder Clyde Waldrop officiated with burial in the Prosperity Cemetery. Born in Taylor County, November 10, 1919, he had spent most of his life in the county. The son of Mrs. Ludie Mae Cooper Brewer and the late Melton M. Brewer, he was a Mason and a member of the Missionary Baptist faith. The 44 year old man was employed as a carpenter at an Americus trailer firm. He died of gunshot wounds about 11 p.m. Saturday. Survivors besides his mother include three children, Mrs. Ralph Mathews, Lynn Brewer and Max Brewer all of Fort Myers, Florida; one grandchild, several aunts and uncles. Edwards Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with Boyette Turner, Tom Giles, J. B. Albritton, Irvin Jones, Lewis Moulton and Ernest Poole serving as pall- bearers. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Massey, Fred Brewer, Julian Cooper, Zack McCorkle, Harvey Callahan and Arthur Carpenter. Joan Hill vjbhill@alltel.net
