The Atlanta Constitution   27 Mar 1889 
Captain Joseph P. Carson is dead.  Captain Carson was one of four brothers who 
enlisted for the war in the confederate service.  His three brothers were 
killed on the field of battle.  Since the war the captain has lived an honored 
life among his people in Taylor county.
