Coe were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Pine Level Cemetery with Rev. Chester Singletary officiating. Mr. Coe dies Sunday afternoon of a gunshot wound. He worked as an iron worker for the Local 387 of Atlanta. He was born in Columbus on June 4, 1929, the son of Mrs. Ida Bullard Coe and the late William Jackson Coe. Edwards Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. The pallbearers were Lewis, Leon and Bill Fryer, Lonnie Williams, Lloyd Cotton and Millard Olds. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy Theus Coe; two sons John W. Coe, JR., of Americus, and Bill Coe of Butler; a daughter, Barbara Law of Americus,; his mother; four brothers, Bobby, Frank, Floyd and Dan Coe; and sisters, Mrs. Helen Snill, Mrs. Faye Sizemore, Mrs. Beatrice Britton,Mrs. Gillie Bradshaw, and Mrs. Lillie Shepherd.
