Jesse Cook was hanged on Sept. 17, his body was turned over to his friends, who put it on the night train for Box Springs. The Negroes at Butler assert that the body was warm and perspiring when so turned over, and that Cook’s friends have carefully nursed him back to life. There are white people who join in this belief.
