He was 69 years of age and had been a resident of the county practically all of his life. Besides his wife he leaves three sons and one daughter to mourn their loss, all of whom have the sympathy of scores of friends in their bereavement. The children are: Messrs. J.M. and D.S. of this county, Mr. J.T. Haywood, of Columbus and Mrs. J.T. Tidwell, of Lizella. Mr. Haywood was a good citizen, kind neighbor and true friend to his many friends. He was a faithful and consistent member of the Antioch Baptist church. The funeral and interment occurred at the Antioch cemetery Monday afternoon attended by a large gathering of sorrowing friends, Rev. M.T. Gaultney conducting the service.
