Hill vjbhill@alltel.net November 26, 2005, 8:59 pm Butler Herald, May 22, 1941 One Person Killed Two Hurt In Auto-Truck Wreck Sunday Mr. Clyde Hill Fatally Hurt; Messrs Colan Wisham, Murray Bell Painfully Injured. Mr. Clyde Franklin Hill, 38, former Taylor County farmer but who for the past twelve months had made his home in Thomaston, was instantly killed early Sunday morning as a result of a head-on collision between the car he was driving and a produce truck. Other occupants of the Hill car receiving painful injuries were: Messrs Colan Wisham of Americus and Murray Bell of Rupert. The accident occurred on high-way number three a short distance south of Rupert. Both the car and the truck were almost completely demolished. Mr. Roy William Welch of Pelham, driver of the truck loaded with cabbage enroute to Atlanta market, received only slight injuries. Funeral services for Mr. Hill who is survived by his wife, the former Miss Mildred Wisham of this county and four children, were held at Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church Monday afternoon at three o'clock. Interment in Prosperity cemetery. Besides his wife and children Mr. Hill is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Slaughter Hill of this county.
