While she had been in feeble health for sometime, her death came very unexpectedly as it was thought she was somewhat improved. She was missed from her sister’s sick room for some time and becoming alarmed at her continued absence her sister, who was confined to her bed, went out to find her. Upon reaching the chicken yard she found her lifeless body lying prostrate on the ground. These two sisters, Mrs. Hill and Miss Lou Meeks, have lived for years on their farm south of Reynolds, where they have enjoyed the love and companionship of each other. Their devotion was beautiful. The companionship of one so dearly loved will be sorely missed. May the good Lord give this devoted and lonely sister the strength to bear this great loss and sorrow. Mrs. Hill was in every sense a Christian woman, much-loved by her family and friends. She is survived by one brother, Mr. Berry Meeks, of Columbus, and three sisters, Miss Lou Meeks and Mrs. Alice Carter, of Reynolds, and Mrs. J.E. Windham, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Mrs. Hill was born Nov.6, 1856, and died March 20, 1919. Her remains were interred in the family cemetery [Meeks] on Friday p.m. at 4 o’clock. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J.H. Allen, of Reynolds, and Rev. L.E. Pierce,of Mauk.
