Mr. Hobbs was nearly 80 years of age, and had been a very useful citizen. His death was very unexpected as he had been sick but a few days. He had many friends and relations who will regret to learn of his death. His remains will be interred at Philippi today. Additional Comments: Willis Hobbs was the father-in-law of my 3rd great aunt, Ellen Watson. She married his son, James B. Hobbs, on March 24, 1878 in Taylor County, Ga.
