Oh it was so hard to give him up, he was crip-ple fourteen months and never spoke a work in two or three days before his death. During the sickness of Mr. Hill he would call his brother and sister who are dead; he now lies in his new made grave by the side of his first wife. His suffering on earth is done, his work on earth is finished, he is now resting in the arms of Jesus who called him to come up higher. We believe he is at rest. We would say to the sorrowing ones weep not for his suffering on earth is ended, he is gone forever. Mr Hill was in his eightieth year; he was always kind and had a kind word for every body and always ready to do his part. He leaves to mourn his death four sons and one daughter-- Messrs W. M. Hill near Southland, R. A. Hill, Slaughter Hill, and J. B. Hill of Rupert; Mrs. W. B. Ray of Southland, There are three brothers and one sister. Why do we mourn departed friend Or shake at death's alarms? Tis but the voice that Jesus sends To call him to his arms. Written by one who knew him. K.M. Joan HIll vjbhill@alltel.net
