The entire lower section of Taylor and Upper part of Schley County was saddened Sunday by the announcement of the death of Mr H. H. Hill, who with his aged and devoted companion lived on their farm five miles south of Rupert. He was seemingly in better health Saturday than was usual for him, having spent the day with one of his daughters near by. However, about eight o'clock Saturday night he was stricken with apoplexy, death following almost instantly. The end came peacefully; it was said he passed as one falling asleep not a movement, all quiet and serene. He had lived the life that broods no fear of death, it was merely the transac-tion of the kindly spirit back to the God who gave it. Mr Hill was in the 79th year of his age. He is survived by his widow, Mrs Susan Watson Hill, daughter of the late Dr. J. M. Culpepper, a well known citizen of the county and for many years a re-sident of Butler. He leaves also the following children: Mrs J. M. White, Mrs C. O. White, Mr G. C. HIll of this county, J. A. Hill of Waycross, R. E. Hill of Ellaville, W. D. and J. E. Hill of Meigs. Mr P. Z. Hill is a brother and Mrs J. W. Brewer of this county is a sister of the deceased. Having been married five times four of Mr Hill's wives preceded him to the grave. His first marriage was to a Miss Murray, second, a Miss Moulton, third, a Miss Thompson, fourth a Miss Floyd and Mrs Susan Watson, who survives. Interment was at Prosperity Church and cemetery Sunday afternoon, funeral services being conducted by Elder T. D. Roberts, pastor of the Church. A large number of sorrowing friends and re-latives of the decease met to pay a last loving tribute. Joan Hill vjbhill@alltel.net
